Job Description

Department: Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine
Reports to: Division Head, Rheumatology
Salary: (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)

Shifts: Typically, 4-7 half-day clinics per week and 8-10 weeks of inpatient rheumatology consult  and on call coverage in a year. The inpatient service and on call coverage are not mandatory.

Status: Temporary, full time (part time options can be discussed)
Period of appointment: 1 year

Position Summary
The Division of Rheumatology is seeking applications for a Clinical Associate (Physician) to provide locum coverage of rheumatology clinical services for a year at UHN. The successful candidate is expected to provide excellent rheumatologic clinical care in the outpatient setting to patients with predominantly inflammatory conditions. Expertise/comfort in caring for patients with vasculitis and multi-system inflammatory disease would be an asset. There is also opportunity to care for patients with rheumatic complications of oncologic treatments if desired, although this is negotiable. Clinical activities will include 4-7 half-day clinics per week (negotiable). There may also be opportunities to participate in undergraduate, ambulatory clerkship, and postgraduate teaching in conjunction with the clinical work if desired. Participation with the in-patient consultation service and on-call roster is possible if desired.

Qualifications

  • MD degree required
  • Completed subspecialty training in a recognized rheumatology postgraduate training program
  • Experience with complex rheumatology patient care
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
  • Rheumatologist certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical excellence and collaborative teamwork.
  • Preference given to candidates with permanent residency or citizenship status in Canada.
